A Woman and her two children have been burnt to death in a fire that gutted a house at Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya South District of the Ashanti Region.
They have been identified as Abigail Yeboah, 28, mother, Norah Yeboah, nine, and Philipa Yeboah, six, children.
The mother and children, who were asleep, were trapped in the room at 3:00am on Wednesday, when the fire broke.
However, two others who were in the house according to an eyewitness managed to escape unhurt.
Some residents who trooped to the scene to rescue three other family members, said they heard the victims shout for help, but it was too late to save them.
They claimed the house had been burgled about five times and the occupants used heavy metals to protect the house.
The intervention of firefighters, however, prevented the spread of the fire to other houses, but the entire four bedroom house was destroyed by the blazing fire.
Security personnel were at the fire scene to retrieve the burnt bodies, at the time of report.
Ashanti Regional Fire Commander, Henry Giwa, said investigation into the incident was ongoing.
This is the second fire incident that had claimed lives in the Ashanti Region in recent times.
Barley three weeks ago, at Apromase in the Ejisu Municipality, a policeman, his wife and three-month-old baby boy were burnt to death.
