CBG reiterates commitment to supporting business, economic reporting

The Consolidated Bank Ghana says it will continue to support activities that would further deepen business, finance and economic reporting in Ghana.

“Economic reporting plays a significant role in economic development and it is therefore important we find ways to encourage and strengthen journalists’contributions. Supporting the Business, Finance, and Economic category is one of the many ways we are championing the agenda to grow Ghana’s economy as a bank.” Deputy Managing Director of CBG in charge of Operations, Thairu Ndungu said.

He was speaking after he presented the CBG Financial Journalist of the Year award to Mr Maxwell Akalaare Adombila of the Graphic Communications Group at the 24th Ghana Journalists Association awards night in Accra.

“The category, titled ‘CBG Financial Journalist of the Year’ aims to encourage and drive innovation within the financial sector”.

Mr Ndungu said “CBG commends you for this great achievement and we urge you to do more in terms of business, finance and economic reporting for the betterment of businesses and Ghana at large.”

He further assured that CBG in collaboration with GJA would continue to support the business, finance, and economic reporting category with awards and reward the operations of journalists who are passionate to grow the sector.

CBG recently donated an amount of GH¢25,000.00 to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to support the GJA in celebrating its 70th anniversary activities and its 24th awards night.
