3 arrested in connection with alleged murder of OMESS student
The Bekwai Divisional Police Command has arrested three teenage boys for their involvement in the alleged murder of a 21-year-old final student of the Oppong Memorial Senior High School (OMESS), at Kokofu, near Bekwai in the Ashanti Region.
Bekwai Divisional Police Commander Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Teddy Damptey Brown, who confirmed the story, said the police grabbed the suspectsat their hideout upon a tipoff.
The suspects are Solomon Nimako, 17-year-old Junior High School (JHS) 3 student, Richard Nkrumah, a 15-year-old JHS 2 student, and a 16-year-old JHS student, Albert Opoku.
DSP Damptey said that Nkrumah admitted using a broken bottle to stab the late Richard Kofi Appiah.
Meanwhile, the police are on a manhunt for three other suspects identified as Kofi Nti, Ramsay Okyere and Kofi Atta, who are on the run.
Kofi Appiah was stabbed to death by a group of young men last Saturday night following scuffle between them.
The body has been kept at the Bekwai Government Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.
