Mr James added that, the platform would give Ghana and West African companies the opportunity to connect with more manufacturers and suppliers, have potential collaborations, partnership distribution, joint ventures, and investment tie-ups.

“The expo will be a great platform for the exhibiting companies coming from different parts of the world to meet and discuss new products, collaborate for business partnerships and adapt new innovations in practice of agriculture and food processing packaging sector, it is also in line with the development goals of Ghana government’s commitment to value-added agriculture,” he said.

On his part, General Secretary of Food Beverage Association of Ghana (FABAG), Mr Samuel Ato Aggrey, called on government to financially assist students to produce more technologies to fast track the development in the agricultural sector.

“We have lots of polytechnics and universities in the country yet we don’t see much being done by graduates of such schools, these areas need to be empowered for students to be challenged to come out with the production of machines that would drive the economy,” he stated.

The expo would be organised by Wegvoraus Exhibitions, with support of the West African Chamber of Agriculture (WACDA), Crop life Ghana, Ghana Union of Traders Association, Food and Beverage Association of Ghana, Farmer Organisation Network of Ghana, Federation of Association of Ghanaian Exporters, Guzakuza and many regional farmers’ cooperative and groups
