400 widows, children receive clothing donation at Kojo-Oku
Some widows and deprived children at Kojo-Oku near Nyanyano in the Central Region at the weekend received some clothing from a philanthropist Lady Reverend Maame Nshiraba.
The gesture was undertaken through the I Love You Foundation, an NGO focused on reducing poverty in vulnerable communities across Ghana.
Also, the beneficiaries, numbering about 400 received packs of food and assorted beverages.
Presenting the items to them, Reverend Nshiraba, who is also the Founder of the NGO said her outfit had also been providing free vocational training to interested but needy individuals.
She admonished Christians to be sensitive to the needs of the poor, adding that people should not wait for certain occasions like Christmas alone or festivals, to reach out to vulnerable persons.
“Let us make sure we are compassionate towards each other as Christians. Together we can impact lives positively, it does not matter the amount of money we have, the little we have can make a big difference,” she advised.
Gospel Musician, Madam Jude Lomotey, who was also present at the programme to support the philanthropist reiterated the need for Christians to lead exemplary lives and be each other’s keepers.
She called on individuals and organisations to support activities of the NGO to enable it reach more needy people.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Nana Ajoa Otoo, a widow thanked the NGO for the gesture, saying it would go a long way to cushion them.
