6th edition of Bankers’ Football League slated for June

The sixth edition of the Ghana Association of Banks (GAB) organised a football league which has been announced to commence in June.
This came to light when a delegation of GAB visited some of its members, including the GCB Bank on Thursday on a trophy tour and also invited the bank to partake in the competition.
The trophy tour was also to give the over 20 participating banks and their respective teams an opportunity to view the coveted trophy.
Welcoming the team, Mr Emmanuel Odartey Lamptey, Deputy Managing Director of Operations (DMD, Ops) at GCB Bank, stressed the importance of such activities to deepen interbank collaboration and team bonding, and highlighted the health benefits of sports for bankers, especially due to the sedentary nature of bank staff.
He highlighted the Bank’s unwavering commitment to supporting communities through impactful Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), connecting the upcoming football league to GCB Bank’s dominance in the banking industry and contribution to the socio-economic growth and development of the country.
Mr Lamptey commended the GAB for organising the league and assured them of the Bank’s support.
He challenged the other participating teams to be ready for GCB Bank’s star-studded team noted for its display of skill and tenacity.
“The GCB Bank sports team is known for their gallant display of dexterity and aplomb in various competitions and the organiser should expect nothing short of the best. We have a record winning streak which we want to maintain,’ he added.
