Accra East ECG installs new 11 KV feeder at Teshie New England

The Accra East Region of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has inaugurated a new 11 KV feeder at Teshie New England, a significant step towards enhancing power supply in the region.
The newly constructed feeder is designed to improve the quality and reliability of power supply, significantly reducing instances of power outages and low voltage that customers at Teshie, Tseaddo, Chain Homes and surrounding areas have been experiencing.
Mr Bismark Otoo, the Regional General Manager of the Accra East Region, explained that the construction of this feeder aligns with ECG’s commitment to providing safe, quality, and reliable electricity to consumers.

He noted that the existing feeder serving the area was overloaded, resulting in frequent outages and low voltage due to high load demands. “We recognised
that customers in this enclave were facing regular outages and low voltage because of the excess load on the old feeder.
With this new feeder, some customers will be transferred to relieve the load on the old one, meaning they will no longer experience frequent outages and low voltages,” he added.
He emphasised that the Accra East Region was dedicated to promoting local economic growth by ensuring stable power supply across the area.
He further stated that the commissioning of the feeder would provide convenience to customers reliant on electricity for their businesses, thereby boosting economic growth in the region.
The Accra East Region aims to enhance customer satisfaction and experience through various development projects that address their electricity needs. The new feeder is part of an initiative to reduce downtime and enhance the overall customer experience at Teshie New England, Tseaddo, Chain Homes, and nearby communities.
Moreover, Mr Otoo noted that this initiative would also facilitate quicker fault detection and isolation, enabling engineers to restore power swiftly in the event of disruptions.
He mentioned that the Accra East Region had undertaken several projects to improve service delivery and ensure customer satisfaction.
Residents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, highlighting the positive impact it will have on their daily lives.
