Afari Dartey wins December Monthly Medal golf competition
Kwame Ligbidi ended his golf season on a winning note when he emerged the winner of the 2022 December Monthly Medal golf competition held last month.
Ligbidi won the decorated prize after breaking a tie with a stroke over Enoch Kofi Owusu in a one hole sudden.
The duo had played a level course par score of 58 gross each in the professionals division and needed a tie to declare a winner of the competition organized by Safari Valley Echo Resort Golf Club in the Okere District with 20 amateur and seven professional golfers in attendance.
Aileen Conteh won the amateur female event after scoring 66 net.
Doctor Dennis Addo and Kofi intsiful won the male Amateurs Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ with 58 and 65 net scores, respectively.
Addressing guests at the closing ceremony of the nine-hole course event, the Group CEO of Safari Group of Companies, Mr. Samuel Afari Dartey commendedthe golfers for the performance exhibited.
Mr Darteystated “This is a very beautiful monthly medal. I thank everyone for coming and the organizers for putting this together to end the year 2022.”
He said for the first time, the championship attracted seven professionals, adding that “You have given an image to the tournament. We’ll make it bigger and better with the years.”
“We’re also grateful to the loyal players who have consistently been with us to show your commitment. We say ‘Ayekoo’. For the first timers, we hope that we did not disappoint you.”
