Alhaji Sulemana nominated Deputy Minister -designate for Lands and Natural Resources

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Al­haji Yusif Sulemana, Member of Parlia­ment (MP) for Bole Bamboi, in the Savannah Region, as Deputy Minister-designate of Lands and Natural Resources.

The nomination was announced by Mr Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the Spokesperson for President Ma­hama.

Alhaji Sulemana is a distin­guished development finance and tax analyst, banker, and politician with extensive experience in the financial and legislative sectors.

He is currently pursuing a PhD with research focus on taxation, holds an MPhil in Development Finance from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Ad­ministration (GIMPA), an Execu­tive MBA in Project Management.

Alhaji Sulemana holds a BSc in Administration, specialising in Banking and Finance from the University of Ghana (UG), and a trained teacher, having graduated from the Tamale Training College.

Alhaji Sulemana serves as National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP, since January 2017 till date, reflecting his unwavering commitment and dedicated service to his constituents.

While in Parliament, he has been a ranking member of the Se­lect Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism, chairman of the Savannah Regional Parliamentary Caucus and member of the Public Accounts Committee, amongst others.

Before entering Parliament, Alhaji Sulemana was the manager for Projects at the Export Trade, Agriculture, and Industrial De­velopment Fund (EDAIF), now Ghana EXIM Bank from 2013 to 2016.

His earlier career includes a ten­ure at UNIBANK Ltd, where he served as Client Relationship Man­ager and Personal Banker from 2004 to 2010. He also worked as the Country Coordinator for Ed­ucate Africa Totally, a USA-based NGO, from 2002 to 2004.

Alhaji Sulemana is a profes­sional member of the Chartered Institute of Development Finance and the Institute of Directors, Ghana.

The President also nominated 12 others as deputy ministers-des­ignate for: Ministry of Finance – Thomas Nyarko Ampem; Ministry of the Interior, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi; Ministry of Defence, Ernest Brogya Gyenfi; Ministry of Education, Clement Abas Apaak and Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah.

The others are Ministry of Roads & Highways, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini; Ministry of Justice and Attorney General, Justice Srem-Sai; Ministry of Lo­cal Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah and Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, Gizella Tettey-Agbotui

The rest are Ministry of Tour­ism, Culture and Creative Arts, Yussif Issaka Jajah; Ministry of Food and Agriculture, John Kofi Setor Dumelo and Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Samson Ahi

The President has also nomi­nated Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba as Minister of State, Public Sector Reforms.
