All set for Green Strongest Warrior champs

This year’s power weightlifting and body building competition dubbed “the Green Strongest Warrior championship will be held tomorrow at the Green Lounge at Community 9, Tema.

At stake is a US$1,000 cash prize for the ultimate winner, a US$500 prize for the first runners-up and US$200 for the second runner-up in addition to trophies, medals and certificates.

The winner would also have the opportunity to travel to Europe to compete in an up-coming championship slated for 2022.

Launching the event, the President of Tema Power Weightlifting and BodyBuilding Association (TEPWLA), Razak Ibrahim said the competition was opened to athletes across the country.

This year’s event is on the theme “Advocating for youth sports awareness for future innovation” and organized by the Tema Power Weightlifting and BodyBuilding Associations (TEPWLA/TEBBA) in collaboration with Green Lounge with sponsorship from Agaza Homes, a real estate firm.

He said athletes would be required to perform a few techniques including squat, dead lift, shoulders press, tire flip and sack lift race.

Mr. Frank Akwaboa, Representative of Agava Homes, said his company’s support for the event was part of their corporate social responsibility and hoped other join to make the event bigger.
