ALX hosts workshop on building AI-ready teams
ALX Enterprise has hosted more than 30 organisations at the ALX Tech Hub in Accra for an executive workshop on building artificial intelligence (AI)-ready teams and leadership.
The workshop, themed “Building AI Ready Teams and Leaders,” brought together business leaders, human resource professionals and decision-makers to explore how organisations can move beyond the hype surrounding AI and begin developing practical capabilities within their workforce.
Participants engaged in an interactive simulation designed to help them understand what it takes to build an AI-ready organisation. The exercise sparked discussions on leadership, change management, governance and workforce transformation.
The session also emphasised the practical use of AI tools in the workplace, as well as the need for ethical considerations in adopting the technology.
Speaking at the event, the Country Director of ALX Ghana, Nana Darko Asiedu, said artificial intelligence was transforming the way organisations operate.
He noted that the critical issue was no longer whether businesses should adopt AI, but whether their workforce was prepared to work alongside it.
“At ALX, our mission has always been to unlock human potential through practical learning,” he said.
Mr Asiedu explained that ALX Enterprise was extending that mission to organisations by equipping leaders and teams with the skills, mindset and confidence required to succeed in the evolving world of work.
He added that Africa’s competitive advantage would depend not only on access to AI, but on people who could use the technology responsibly, creatively and effectively.
ALX Enterprise provides tailored learning programmes in leadership development, workforce productivity, and AI and digital transformation. These range from executive workshops to multi-month training programmes customised to meet specific organisational needs.
According to the organisers, each engagement is designed to deliver measurable business outcomes, enabling organisations to translate learning into lasting impact.
Some participants described the workshop as practical and insightful. One participant said it was among the most useful AI sessions they had attended, adding that they left with tools they could immediately apply within their team.
Another participant noted that the facilitators focused less on the technology itself and more on helping leaders guide their teams to adopt AI responsibly and confidently.
The participant added that the hands-on exercises made the technology feel more accessible and less intimidating.
