Barclays Bank Ghana, part of the Absa Group, has been adjudged Bank of the Year, whiles the Managing Director, Mrs Abena Osei-Poku, has been named Woman of Excellence of the Year – Private Sector, at the 2019 Ghana Business Awards.
The awards are in recognition of the bank’s financial and non-financial achievements across a wide range of measures, including business sustainability, operational excellence, innovation and its overall strong performance which continues to make it a leader in the banking sector.
Mrs Abena Osei-Poku’s award was also in acknowledgment of her exemplary leadership which continues to drive high performance not only within Barclays but is also setting standards in corporate Ghana.
Receiving the awards, Mrs Abena Osei-Poku said “We are very excited to receive these awards. They demonstrate our track record of consistently creating shared value for our customers, Communities and all our stakeholders whiles maintaining operational excellence. These will remain our focus, as we re-brand to Absa early next year.”
