Boakye appointed Black Damsels head coach

 Sandra Boakye has been appointed as the new head coach of the national U-15 girls’ team, the Black Damsels.

Sandra’s appointment marks another significant step in the GFA’s continued investment in women’s football development.

She will be supported by an experienced backroom staff, with Stephen Jojo Ampah and Gifty Ayew named as her assistant coaches. The team’s goalkeepers will be trained under the guidance of Joseph Akeem, who brings his exper­tise to strengthen this crucial area of the squad.

The technical team will also benefit from strong medical and welfare support. Yaa Ser­fowaa has been appointed as the physiotherapist, while Eliz­abeth Ayambila will serve as the Welfare Officer to ensure player wellbeing both on and off the pitch. Dr. Josephine Nomor will take charge as the Team Doctor, with Lydia Forson assuming the role of Equipment Officer.

Sandra’s appointment reflects the association’s trust in her abilities and experience to build a solid foundation for the Black Damsels, a team that serves as the nursery for Gha­na’s future women’s national teams.

With this strong technical and support team in place, the Black Damsels are expected to be well-positioned to compete in regional and international competitions, contributing to the long-term growth of wom­en’s football in Ghana.-GFA
