CAF Women’s Champions League:  Ampem Darkoa face AS Mande today

Ghana Women’s League and FA Cup champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, will be in battle today in Cote d’Ivoire as they face AS Mande in the second group game of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Both teams are paired in group B where the Ghanaians opened their account with a 2-1 win over the defending champions, AS FAR Rabat, of Morocco.

AS Mande, however, began with a 1-1 draw against Huracanes of Equatorial Guinea.

Today’s clash will be the first between AS Mande and Ampem Darkoa, who are debutants in the championship.

For AS Mande, it will be their second clash against a Ghanaian club after facing off with Hasaacas Ladies in the 2021 edition and lost 3-0.

AS Mande are now undefeated in their last two games at the finals with both ending in draws, and would hope to beat the Ghanaians to brighten their chances of qualification.

Should they fail to win, they will become the second team to go through five successive games at the finals without a win.

But Ampem Darkoa look solid in the first game in which Comfort Yeboah scored with her only shot on target. They are favourite to snatch all three points.
