CDS presents birthday gift to National Chief Imam

The Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, on Tuesday presented food items and a cash of GH₵5,000 to the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, as part of the Ramadan celebration.
The items, which included five bags of rice, 10 packs of canned malt and bottled water, two rams and a gallon of cooking oil, were also to celebrate his 103 birthday which was on Saturday.
Presenting the items, Vice Admiral Amoama said the Chief Imam had been a pillar of peace behind the country, adding that his works were evident for all to see.
According to the CDS, the visit was his second to the office of the Chief Imam,saying that the first time was when he was appointed and it was to seek his prayer for the duty that had been entrusted to him by the President and the government of Ghana
“So on the occasion of celebrating another year, we taught it proper to come and wish him a happy birthday and also to thank him profoundly for being a pillar of peace behind our country,” the CDS added.
He called on the National Chief Imam to continue to pray for the country and the Ghana Armed Forces during this Holy month of Ramadan.
Dr Sheikh Sharubutu expressed his gratitude to the CDS for the gestureand prayed for the peace of the country and the GAF
Present with the CDS were the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, Director of Religious Affairs, Commodore Rev. Adjei-Djan, and the Imam of the GAF, Major Mohammed and some senior officers of the GAF.
