China committed to opening up to outside world — President Jinping
China is committed to its fundamental national policy of opening to the outside world and pursues a mutually beneficial agenda, President Xi Jinping said Sunday.
“China strives to create new opportunities for the world with its own development and to contribute its share to building an open global economy that delivers greater benefits to all peoples,” Mr Jinping said to a thunderous applause when he presented a report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of (CPC).”
The meeting, themed ” Hold High the Great Banner of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and Strive in Unity to Build a Modern Socialist Country in All Respects” is taking place five years after the 19th National Congress, to among others, outline the vision of the CPC for the future, discuss the successes, challenges and reforms with the ultimate goal of promoting good governance in the interest of China.
President Jinping stated that China strove to promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, advance bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation and boost international macroeconomic policy coordination.
He said “China was committed to working with other countries to foster an international environment conducive to development and create new drivers for global growth.
Mr Jingping, regarded as one of the most powerful leaders in the world added that in spite of China’s quest to ensure global economic growth, China opposes protectionism, the erection of “fences and barriers,” decoupling, disruption of supply chains, unilateral sanctions and maximum-pressure tactics.
“China is prepared to invest more resources in global development cooperation. It’s committed to narrowing the North-South gap and supporting and assisting other developing countries in accelerating development.”
He continued “China plays an active role in the reform and development of the global governance system. It pursues a vision of global governance featuring shared growth through discussion and collaboration. China upholds true multilateralism, promotes greater democracy in international relations, and works to make global governance fairer and more equitable. “
President Jinping told members of the CPC that millions of Chinese people were uplifted from poverty in the past decade and efforts were being made to increase the per capita of the people.
He said science, technology and innovation remain the driving force of development of China and that the government was determined to improve sector with resources.
On global peace and security, President Jinping noted that China bad always been committed to its foreign policy goals of upholding world peace and promoting common development, and it’s dedicated to ensuring a human community with a shared future.
“China remains firm in pursuing an independent foreign policy of peace. It has always decided its position and policy on issues based on their own merits, and it has arrived to uphold the basic norms governing international relations and safeguard international fairness and justice. “
He said: “China respects the sovereignty and territorial and territorial integrity of all countries. It stays true to the principle of equality of all countries big or small, strong or weak, and rich or poor, and it respects the development paths and social systems independently chosen by the entire world’s people.
President Jinping states that China stood firm against all forms of hegemonism and power politics, “the Cold War mentality, interference in other countries’ internal affairs, and double standards.
He said China pursue a defensive national defence policy, and its development strengthens the world forces for peace and that no matter what stages of development it reaches, China would never seek hegemony or engage in expansionism.
Since its founding a century ago, President Jinping stated that the CO has taken a remarkable journey; a journey of fortitude and indomitable spirit of the Chinese people to work for the collective good of the people and the country.
“Our Party has dedicated itself to achieving lasting greatness for the Chinese nation and committed itself to the noble cause of peace and development for humanity. It is imperative that we all of us in the Party never forget our original aspiration and founding mission, that we always stay modest, prudent, and hard-working, and that we have the courage and ability to carry on our fight.”
