Chop Express donates to Smart Kids Montessori

CHOP Express, a fast food restaurant in the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, on Friday presented assorted items to the Smart Kids Montessori – an educational institution in Kasoa of the Central Region.
The items included, 500 exercise books, 200 Teachers’ note books, five large tins of tomato paste, one bag of rice, six gallons of detergents and five packs of toilet roll.
The presentation formed part of the restaurants one year anniversary celebration.
The Director of the restaurant, Henry Ugokwe, speaking on the objective of the presentation of the items, stated that when God bless you after going through serious challenges, you need to give thanks and appreciation to him and society.
He noted that the Adentan community and their numerous customers had been very supportive, hence the desire to give back to society as their corporate social responsibility.
The inspiration behind Chop Express, he emphasised, was born out customer demand for innovation in the fast food industry where instead of adding Banku or Kenkey to grilled tilapia, we decided to add plain rice, jollof or fried rice in addition to Kelewele, yam and potatoe chips with variety of either locally made Shitor or green pepper.
“The banku and tilapia or with the kenkey will be too heavy for some people that was why we decided to innovate to meet the satisfaction of customers who will want to eat light and conserve more energy for the day’s activities,” he added.
Mr Ugokwe further noted that the industry was being known for less quality food that was the reason Chop Express was trying to vary its dishes and spices to deliver sumptuous meal for customers’ satisfaction.
The International Chef Consultant to the company, Mr Nutepe Kartey- Attipoe, also underlined that the grilled tilapia went with the Africa taste of local seasoning saying that, “No imported additives are added because most of the items used in the food preparation are carefully selected and documented after packaging and very affordable.”
“School catering is different from hotel catering, that is why the food of the numerous roadside sellers do not taste the same. Catering business is a skill and God given talent,” he added.
The Proprietor of the Smart Kids Montessori, Madam Ophelia Allotey, commended Management of the restaurant for the support and appealed to other spirited individuals to come to their aid.
