CID investigates death threats against Manasseh Azure
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has commenced investigations into a death threat on Multi Media journalist, Manasseh Azure in the wake of his expose on the alleged militia training at the Christiansborg Castle.
A Police source confirmed that an official report was made on Monday morning by the ace journalist at the CID headquarters in Accra.
An investigation by the Ghanaian Times has revealed that evidence including SMSs has been taken from Manasseh’s mobile phone and the necessary action is being followed.
Further investigations revealed that the content of the messages have not been made known due to the fact that it might hamper investigations.
In an exclusive interview with the Ghanaian Times Manasseh confirmed the death threat stating that a report had been made to the Police for investigations.
He said he (Manasseh) was assisting the Police in its investigations to apprehend the perpetrators.
It would be recalled that an expose by Manasseh Azure, an investigative journalist suggests that the former seat of government which houses the offices of some current ministers have been turned into a training camp for De-Eye, an alleged militia group.
Meanwhile government has since denied claims on the expose by Manasseh Azure saying the documentary is a “malicious” representation of facts and lacked evidence to support the narrative that the government is supporting a militia group.
