Danny List Foundation supports young golfer

The Danny List Foundation has presented an undisclosed amount of money to young budding Ghanaian golfer, Julienne Afi Amezado.

The money was to support her participation in the prestigious Grove Junior Open Championship in Hertfordshire, UK, on August 14.

The amount will cover the travel costs and cost of playing in the championship.

Making the presentation on Tuesday, the Patron of the Danny List Foundation, Angela List, expressed her excitement at the strides being made by young Ghanaian golfers including Afi Amezado.

She said the Foundation was focused on supporting young men, women, and children in Ghana to excel in their various fields as well as help them access education and healthcare.

“Danny List has chosen to collaborate with the Fafali Organisation to sponsor their protégé, Afi Amezado, because we believe in the talent she has and know that with the needed support, she will succeed at the championship.”

She revealed that Danny List, the first Ghanaian to be on the PGA tour, recently won the 124th California State Open Golf Championship after posting a score of 21-under-par across four days of competition at Soboba Springs Golf Course.

“As the first African to win this trophy, I believe this feat can only inspire the likes of Afi Amezado to go all out and prove her mettle.”

Afi thanked the foundation, noting that it felt great to be selected among a lot of players for the support.
