U.S. Carrier, Delta Air Lines, has introduced Airbus A330-900neo on its daily service from Accra to New York-John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport.
The new generation aircraft from French aircraft manufacturing giant, Airbus, comes with increased seat capacity by approximately 30 per cent between Ghana and the United States.
Addressing journalists in Accra on Friday shortly after the maiden landing at the Kotoka International Airport, Ralph Albus, Delta’s Director of Global Communications Commercial said, “Customers will enjoy the Delta’s state-of-the-art Airbus offering the latest in premium travel.
“We are excited to offer our passengers a premium onboard experience across the Atlantic with Delta’s renowned service,” he stated.
He mention that Delta’s brand-new Airbus A330-900neo would contribute approximately 1,000 additional seats each week between Ghana and the United States while offering travellers a choice of four distinctive cabin experiences.
Additionally, he said the aircraft boasts an increased cargo capacity to meet rising demand.
Mr Albus explained that across all cabins, passengers would enjoy state-of-the-art features
On safety, Mr Albus noted that the pilots flying the fleet were mainly experienced retired, young U.S. Air force pilots making safety a priority.
He said Delta’s 18 years of success story in the country was as a result of the strong partnerships and expressed gratitude to the airline’s valued customers, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and the government for creating the enabling business environment
