Don’t indulge in blame game …Dr Bawumia advises NPP supporters

The Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has advised all members of the NPP not to indulge in blame games but to unite and be encouraged for the future.

Addressing party supporters at his residence in Accra yesterday, Dr Bawumia called on the rank and file of the party to remain optimistic saying, “I will continue to look up to God because the ways of man are not the ways of God”.

He added that because of his faith and trust in God, he was convinced that all things work together for good for those who believe in God.

Dr Bawumia lost the 2024 general election to President-elect John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in an election with the lowest turnout of 60.9 per cent since 2000.

Dr Bawumia polled 4,657,304 of the valid votes cast, representing 41.61 per cent, and John Dramani Mahama secured 6,328,397 valid votes, representing 56.55 per cent.

Dr Bawumia, addressed the first group of party members from the Klottey Korle and Ayawaso East constituencies of the Greater Accra Region, saying the statistical outcome of the 2024 presidential election clearly showed that the NPP gave the victory to the NDC.

Several other visiting party members from the Trobu, Weija-Gbawe constituencies also took turns to solidarise with the Vice President and the NPP 2024 presidential candidate.

The members of the party were in very high spirits as they sang and blew ‘vuvuzela’ to charge the atmosphere.

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korle Constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, on behalf of the delegation noted that they had confidence in the leadership of Dr Bawumia and that even though the NPP did not get what it wanted out of the 2024 general elections, they “still believe everything is possible.”

“We believe in your policies and we will continue to support you. We are there for you,” Nii Nortey assured Dr Bawumia.

He congratulated Dr Bawumia for what he achieved during the recent elections saying, the NDC did not perform better than the NPP “but our party people did not help.”
