Eleven Wonders player Mohammed Amin Adams and Team Manager, Ernest Amo, have been remanded in police custody by the Amasaman District Court.
The duo who were denied bail yesterday will be in police custody for two weeks.
Amin Adams, 23, and Amo Mensah, 43, were charged on two counts – threat of harm and assault but they pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court, presided over by His Lordship Stanislaus Amanoipo, therefore, remanded them into custody to reappear on December 20, 2021.
Amin Adams wept uncontrollably after the verdict as the two were taken away by the police.
The two were arrested on Saturday after assaulting Assistant Referee Jasper Adenyo in a Ghana Premier League match between Accra Lions and Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Times Sports has gathered that the two will face further punishment from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
A source at the FA told the Times Sports yesterday, that the duo will be sanctioned for offensive conduct after facing the criminal aspect.
“The police has taken up the criminal side of the case. The GFA Prosecutor would charge the two for misconduct.”
“Last month the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and his team met the FA and Premier League Clubs to address such concerns and challenges in a bid to combat crime at League centers, clamp down on hooliganism and crowd violence as well.”
From that meeting, the source said all the club’s agreed that punitive measures should be taken by the police service to clamp down on such incidents at match venues.
Superintendent of police, Freeman Kumashie, who is the Head of Security at the Accra Sports Stadium cautioned players, club officials and supporters against such misconduct because the police will not hesitate to cause their arrest.
