Experts champion inclusive education, employment for persons with disabilities

About 992 global experts from across the globe participated in a virtual International Conference on Bridging Employment, Inclusive Education/Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET), highlighting a collective commitment to transforming education and employment for learners with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.
The conference was convened and hosted by Dr Priscilla Amanorkuor Dseagu, Founder of the Duperon Learning Centre and Lecturer at the Department of Special Education, University of Education, Winneba, with support from Co-Hosts, Cindy Seitz (President, Duperon Education, USA); Mr Bernard Lomotey Agbloe (CEO, BMS Foundation, Ghana) and Harriet Swanzy Baffoe (Post Masters Clinical Fellow, MUCC, USA). Participants joined from Africa, Asia, North America, and Australia.
The intellectual foundation of the conference was the Diver Similarity Paradigm, propounded by Professor Joseph Ofori Dankwa and Harvey Randall Wickes Endowed Chair at Saginaw Valley State University, USA, who served as Lead Conference Consultant, Special Guest, and Keynote Speaker.
The conference was organised by the Duperon Learning Centre for Children with Special Needs, Ghana, in collaboration with Duperon Education (USA), Saginaw Valley State University (USA), BMS Foundation (Ghana), and Hudson Valley Community College’s Uniquely Abled Academy (USA); experts from the University of Education, Winneba (Ghana), University of Cape Coast (Ghana), University of Ghana, Legon, University for Development Studies (Ghana), University of Professional Studies, Accra (Ghana), Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and Institutional Collaborators such as Midland County Education Service Agency (USA).
Others are Wuhan Institute of Technology (China), and Families and Children Together (USA). Advocacy and non-profit partners were PARCLife (USA), Grand Traverse Dyslexia Association (USA), Rans Consulting and Advocacy LLC (USA), Heart of the City Development Centre (USA), Grateful Love Foundation (USA), Awaawaa2 (Ghana), and Kyemen Baby Online (Ghana), demonstrating strong North–South and cross-sector collaboration.
