FANCL Corporation donates 2,500 nose masksto MSMEs
A Japanese firm,FANCL Corporation, has donated 2,500 nose masks to the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) for distribution to Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Ashanti and Greater Accra regions.
The cosmetic and dietary supplement company presented the safety kits, comprising disposable and reusable masks, some for children, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
A representative of JICA, Kazunori Miyasaka, who handed over the masks last week, said it was to complement NBSSI’s efforts in supporting MSMEs during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
“JICA recognises the need for MSMEs to be protected during this pandemic and believes that these face masks would help protect MSMEs and enable them to remain productive and become resilient,” he said.
The Executive Director of NBSSI, MrsKosiYankey-Ayeh, who received the items,thanked JICA and FANCL Corporation for their support towards strengthening and growing the MSME sector.
She assured the donors that the NBSSI would ensure MSMEs received the masks so that they were protected during training sessions.
Touching on the extension of ‘Kaizen’ a project between JICA and NBSSI, Mrs Yankey-Ayeh said it was in line with the government’s industrial transformation agenda to change the face of the country’s economy.
Currently, JICA and NBSSI, under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) working on a five-year Enterprise Development Project with Kaizen (EDP-K) Agreement.
