Fulani herdsman killed in Abesim
PA 30–year-old Fulani herdsman, Bukari Jalo, was on Monday evening killed by unknown assailants, at Abesim near Sunyani.
Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the death to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, saying that the throat of Jalo was cut by the attackers, and he was also stabbed in the stomach.
He said on Tuesday, March 5, a brother of Jalo, Mathew Amalfi, 50, and a resident of Kotokrom, a community in the Sunyani municipality, reported to the Ableism Police Station at about 8am that the body of Jalo was found at the ‘Alaska’ junction near Oxford Senior High School on the Sunyani-Abesim road.
Chief Insp Oppong said the body of the deceased had been deposited at a private mortuary at Mantukwa, on the Sunyani-Berekum road.
He appealed to the general public to assist the police with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators. – GNA
