According to him, the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Paramount Chief of Korle Bu, has given 10 acres of land within the Hospital to build the specialist hospital for children.
“So, we are all over the world looking for sponsorship and aid to build this specialist hospital for children, I believe that if we take this on and spearheaded, we can have all other people come to join this project, because we need to heal that child.”
The child is the next generation for the greater priority for the Ghana, the people and the future. And I believe that with this collaboration, we can build on it and do far more than we have done,”he said.
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II made the appeal when the church paid a courtesy call on him to introduce the newly appointed executive of the church.
The visit was to strengthen the relationship between the church and the Ga Traditional Council and also discuss how to start some projects that were stalled after the Former President left office.
The king noted that the Church and Ga Traditional Council have spent a lot of money and resources trying to retool and re-equip the Princess Marie Louis Hospital.
Despite retooling the hospital with incubators, computers, and different kinds of hospital equipment, the GTC and the church had intended renovate and refurbish the hospital but realised they needed a place with large capacity.
He also appealed to the new executives of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to take on the project of putting up boreholes and 12 and 14-seater washroom facilities in the Ga communities, a project which was part of the approved projects under the tenure of the former President of the Church in the Africa West Area.
The king recalled that, the Church also helped renovated the Tackie Tawiah I cluster of Schools which tied the relationship between the church and the Council.
He congratulated the newly appointed executives of the church, a pledge full support to them, adding that “My prayer is that you all give him the support he needs, like you gave to the former President.”
The President, Africa West Area Presidency of the church, Elder Alfred Kyungu pledged to continue with the works of the former President which would go a long way to help the Ghanaians and the church.
He urged the council to make the necessary preparations to give the church the go ahead to start with the borehole project, adding that, they were willing and ready to start the project any day.
He added they were already working with the local people across the country to try and meet some of the basic needs to give hope and smile to these people.
