Garden City University introduces new graduate programmes

THE Garden City University (GCU) in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, has introduced new graduate programmes aimed at responding to the evolving demands of the job market.

The new programmes are Master of Public Health (MPH), MSc in Health Services Management, MSc in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, and Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Sustainability.

The Acting President of the GCU, Nana Dr Kwaku Owusu-Kwarteng, said the new development formed part of its commitment to training relevant manpower to drive the country’s developmental agenda.

Similarly, the University he said, had designed new curricula and would roll out four graduate programmes in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Speaking to journalists in Kumasi on Monday on the new initiatives, he said the programmes would be offered by the School of Graduate Studies and Research and are intended to strengthen GCU’s reputation, particularly in the training of health and other critical professionals.

Nana Dr Kwaku Owusu-Kwarteng, said the University was deliberately aligning its academic offerings with industry needs to ensure that graduates were well positioned to contribute meaningfully to national development.

In addition to the new graduate programmes, GCU he said had also introduced a new undergraduate programmes including Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Information Science.
