Germany is repositioning its relationship with Ghana from traditional donor-recipient cooperation to a strategic partnership focused on business, security and skills development, the German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landscoft, has said.
He said Ghana’s growing importance to Germany’s foreign policy was demonstrated by increasing German business interest in the country, expanding security cooperation and initiatives to facilitate skilled labour migration between the two countries.
Mr Landscoft disclosed this during a lunch interaction with selected journalists at his residence in Accra last Friday, where he outlined Germany’s plans to deepen cooperation with Ghana.
He said Ghana’s democratic stability, English-speaking population, strong bilateral relations with Germany and improving macroeconomic conditions made the country increasingly attractive to German investors.
The Ambassador said changing conditions in traditional markets were also encouraging German businesses to diversify their operations, with many of them increasingly looking towards Africa and, subsequently, Ghana. Read More
