GTF, IYF sign MOU
The
International Youth Fellowship (IYF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF).
It was signed at the Ghana Leadership Summit 2019 held on Thursday, March 21.
The IYF, an NGO with many branches in other parts of the world that nurtures generational leaders through programmes such as World Youth Camps, Overseas Volunteers programmes and Mind Education Specialist Training programme, have intended to add training of their participants in Taekwondo.
This initiated the agreement between the two parties for which the MOU was signed.
Nanhee Joen, a South Korean Sixth Dan Black Belter who is a member of the IYF, has agreed to sponsor the Ghana Taekwondo Federation by providing uniforms and logistical support in exchange for the GTF to train participants of IYF per request from the latter as well as perform at IYF events effective, March 21, 2019.
President of the GTF, Frederick Lartey Otu, signed the MOU on behalf of the Federation while Nanhee Joen signed on behalf of the International Youth Fellowship.
The IYF, led by Nanhee Joen on Tuesday, March 19, visited the Taekwondo national team training session at the Accra Sports Stadium Hall and presented uniforms and others.
The GTF is poised for more of such sponsorships that will help the promotion and development of the combat sport in Ghana.
