Hearts register players, officials for Africa
Ghana’s representatives Accra Hearts of Oak have completed the registration of players and officials for the 2021/22 CAF Inter Clubs competitions.
The Ghanaian champions completed the process on Monday through the help of the IT Department of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Hearts will compete in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League – their first continental appearance since 2015.
The players registered for the campaign includes goalkeepers Richard Attah, Richmond Ayi, Ben Mensah and Richard Baidoo.
The defenders include Fatawu Mohammed, Mohammed Alhassan, Nuru Sulley, James Sewornu, Caleb Amankwah, Sumaila Larry, Raddy Ovouka, Robert Addo Sowah and William Denkyi.
Emmanuel Nettey leads a midfield team of Ansah Botchway, Gladson Awako who just joined from rivals Great Olympics, Patrick Razak, Ibrahim Salifu, Salim Adams, Michelle Sarpong and Enoch Asubonteng.
The attacking side will have Victor Aidoo, Razak Ali, Isaac Mensah, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr., Afriyie Barnieh, Kofi Kordzi, Suraj Seidu, Agyenim Boateng and Issah Kakuh.
The Phobians will kick start their campaign against Guinean side Club Industriel de Kamsar in the preliminary round.
The 2000 CAF Champions League winners will travel to Conakry for the first leg on the weekend of September 10-12, with the second leg set to take place on the weekend of September 17-19 in Accra.
