HLG to hold maiden 2-day athletics, b’ball championships Sept. 22-23

Healthy Life Global (HLG), a non-profit or­ganisation, is set to stage a two-day athletics and basketball open championship at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium in Kumasi on September 22-23.

The competition, which is a maiden edition, is opened to international schools as well as Government Assist­ed Senior High School athletes in the Ghana.

The aim is to use sports as a tool to develop and harness talents and potentials of the youth for future development and opportunities.

“The major aim of this event is to select all the champions who are able to meet the required targets in both championships for an opportu­nity to travel to the United States of America for a month-long training in selected Universities for optimum development in their various fields,” a statement from the organisation said.

According to the statement, the programme falls in line with the organisation’s mission to transform and empower communities through innovative training, advanced ath­letics, specialised education, health awareness, information technology and performing arts.

Healthy Life Global Sportsplex (HLG), is a non-profit organisa­tion with the vision to serve as an international calalyst for the personal and professional development of future leaders who transform culture through progressive actions and healthy lifestyles beyond the court, field and stage.
