HLG to hold maiden 2-day athletics, b’ball championships Sept. 22-23
Healthy Life Global (HLG), a non-profit organisation, is set to stage a two-day athletics and basketball open championship at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium in Kumasi on September 22-23.
The competition, which is a maiden edition, is opened to international schools as well as Government Assisted Senior High School athletes in the Ghana.
The aim is to use sports as a tool to develop and harness talents and potentials of the youth for future development and opportunities.
“The major aim of this event is to select all the champions who are able to meet the required targets in both championships for an opportunity to travel to the United States of America for a month-long training in selected Universities for optimum development in their various fields,” a statement from the organisation said.
According to the statement, the programme falls in line with the organisation’s mission to transform and empower communities through innovative training, advanced athletics, specialised education, health awareness, information technology and performing arts.
