ICODEH distributes education materials to Islamic schools
The Islamic Council for Development and Humanitarian Services(ICODEH), a non- governmental organisation on Saturday distributed educational materials to 1450 school children in 28 Islamic schools in Accra.
The items including school bags, uniform and stationary were procured at a cost of GH₵ 290,000.
They were procured with the assistance of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The pupils and the teachers had gathered at the ICODEH offices at Kotobabi, a suburb of Accra, showering praises on the organisation as they received their items.
The Chairman of ICODEH, Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim told the Ghanaian Times that the items were meant to bring relief to school pupils and students in vulnerable communities.
He underscored the importance of education in national development saying that ICODEH had been undertaking interventions in needy communities to improve their access to education.
The beneficiary Islamic schools were Hamdiyya, Anwarudeen, Ansarudeen,Al-Zakiya, Fish Pond, Achimota Islamic School, Daarul Hijra, Malam Hussein and Akotex.
Others were Saad bun Mu-aaz Islamic School, Al-Walid, Al-Falaah, Research Islamic School, Zinc to Zinc, Zurak Mosque, Madrasa Masjid Rasul , 55 Madradah, Mufakirun, Ibrahimiya and Nurul Qamar.
The rest were Jamal Baba Islamic School, Rashidiya, Tafsiliyya, Taaniya, Rashad, Malam Awudu, An-Najaah and Malam Adamu Islamic School.
