The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted 17 police officers, including two senior officers, to their next ranks in recognition of their exemplary conduct, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
The promotions, which took effect on January 14, 2026, were granted in appreciation of the officers’ distinguished performance in the discharge of their responsibilities, particularly their commitment to operational excellence, discipline, and service to the nation.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the gesture formed part of a broader effort to motivate personnel who consistently demonstrated outstanding commitment, integrity, and professionalism in the line of duty.
Mr Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board, congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to regard the elevation as a call to greater responsibility, leadership, and accountability.
They further encouraged all personnel of the Service to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, loyalty, and service to the public.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as a means of strengthening morale and enhancing effective and efficient policing across the country.
