La Salem Oldies retain RENFAG Champions League trophy

Defending champions La Salem Oldies successfully retained the Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) Champions League trophy after edging Rangoon Oldies 4–2 on penalties in a thrilling final played at the McDan La Town Park.
The closely contested match ended 1–1 after regulation time.
Rangoon Oldies took the lead in the 38th minute through striker Eyram Dzakah, but La Salem Oldies restored parity in the 68th minute when the league’s top scorer, Martin Lamptey, found the back of the net.
The match proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Evans Sarfo and Nortey Tetteh missed their kicks for Rangoon Oldies. Raymond Anum and Ebenezer Oduro converted theirs, while Jonathan Quartey, Eric Agyemang, Solomon Quarcoo and club president Adolph Adjei Tetteh all scored to seal victory for La Salem Oldies.
For their triumph, La Salem Oldies received the trophy, a cash prize of GH¢5,000 and 30 medals. Rangoon Oldies, the runners-up, took home GH¢3,000 and 30 medals.
In the third-place playoff, SCC Sunday Stars defeated Nima Oldies 2–1 to claim the bronze medal position. Both teams received cash prizes of GH¢2,000 and GH¢1,000 respectively, along with 30 medals each.
Individual honours were also presented at the end of the competition. Francis Arthur of Rangoon Oldies was named Player of the Match in the final, while Wisdom Agblexo of Tema Ex-Footballers won the Overall Best Player award. Maxwell Addai of Osu Salem Oldies was adjudged Best Defender, Collins Addo of Tema Ex-Footballers picked up the Best Goalkeeper award, and Martin Lamptey of La Salem Oldies emerged Goal King. The Fair Play Team award went to Ashaiman Oldies.
RENFAG also presented citations to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Prosper Harrison Addo, and Mr Humphrey Awuletey Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Oswal Construction, sponsors of the RENFAG Champions League.
The Chairman of RENFAG, Alhaji Sunday Ibrahim, congratulated the zonal winners and La Salem Oldies for their success and commended the Organising Committee, led by Mr Abdul Karim Mustapha Oliver (Alhaji Oliver), for their dedication and hard work.
