LaDMA presents uniforms, books, others to public schools
The La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) on Wednesday presented educational items to new students entering into various public basic schools in the area to mark the annual “my first day at school” initiative.
The items included school uniforms, books, pencils, erasers, sandals and sanitisers.
The beneficiaries included La Wireless Cluster of Schools, Nativity, Presbyterian Basic School, La Bethel Presbyterian Primary and Junior High, St Paul’s Primary and Junior High School.
The presentation according to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Solomon Kotey Nikoi was to encourage new students entering into class one with new items and also encourage them to learn hard.
The MCE urged parents to consider the educational welfare of their children as supreme.
Ms Abiba Kotomah, Municipal Education Director of Education, LaDMA said the occasion was instituted to welcome learners into Kindergarten (KG) 1 and basic 1.
She said the children who received the items were very excited to have been given such items adding that “the directorate believes the parents will equally be happy due to the current economic challenges we face presently.”
The Director said the directorate was very grateful to the assembly for the support especially in the education sector.
