Legon Cities defeat Dreams FC
Legon Cities recorded their fourth win of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League campaign with a 3-0 victory over visiting Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium, yesterday.
Both sides wasted glorious chances that came their way in the first half.
The game came alive in the second half when Frederick Akatuk grabbed the opener on 53 minutes.
Dreams FC lifted their game in search of an equalizer, however, it was Cities who made it 2-0 on 72 minutes as skipper Frank Akoto scored.
The game swung from one end to the other with Legon Cities doing everything to hold on to their goals while coach Karim Zito’s Dreams FC did all they could to pull a goal back, but goalkeeper Kwame Aziz in post for Cities scored full marks anytime he was threatened.
When all pointed to a 2-0-win, substitute Raymond Kabu Agyemang blasted past goalkeeper Gidios Aseako to make it 3-0.
The victory thus lifts them one place off the bottom of the league log ahead of the start of the second round next week.
