Minerals Commission CEO fetes 500 in Oti Region
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Commission, Mr Kwaku Ayisi, has supported 500 vulnerable people and the members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to celebrate Christmas in the Oti Region, as part of his personal contribution to ensure that they celebrate the occasion without difficulties.
Mr Ayisi, provided the beneficiaries with 500 bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish, and tomatoes.
Presenting the items on behalf of Mr Ayisi, the Oti Regional Organiser of the NPP, Mr Felix Nana Ade presented the items to the Constituency Chairman, for onwards distribution to the beneficiaries in the eight Constituencies and the Guan District because they would be in position to identify the beneficiaries.
Mr Ade said the CEO had acknowledged the economic challenges the country had experienced in 2022, as a result of global economic problems necessitated by COVID-19, and the Russia and Ukraine war, which brought about hardship in the country.
According to Mr Ade, the gesture of Mr Ayisi was only meant to relieve the beneficiaries from difficulties during the Christmas festivities, hoping that the economy would bounce back, since positive indications about the economy started showing.
He said the decision Mr Ayisi made in supporting the beneficiaries in the Oti Region, was apt, and urged the people to continue to support the government because the future of the country looked brighter as the days of hardship would soon be a thing of the past.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries in the Biakoye District, the Biakoye Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Mr Sulemana Moro, thanked Mr Ayisi for the gesture because the support came at an opportune time, and assured him of giving the items to the rightful people.
He said the gesture came as a surprise and urged individuals and groups to emulate Mr Ayisi and provide relevant support to needy persons.
