National Chief Imam honours GA West ECG District Manager

The National Chief Imam and Grand Mufti of Ghana, Sheikh Prof. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has honoured Mr Samuel Andoh, the Ga West District Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), at an event held at Jorma in Accra.

Mr. Andoh was recognised for his sterling performance as the District Manager of ECG at Ablekuma Ga West in the Greater Accra Region over the past few years since he assumed office.

Organisers of the event highlighted Mr. Andoh’s intervention in facilitating the connection of abandoned houses in the district to the national grid and ensuring the timely provision of ECG metres within a remarkably short period.

It was noted that prior to his transfer to the district, customers and landlords often had to wait for up to two years to obtain metres — a situation residents described as unacceptable and inefficient.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements and continued support for the vision and aspirations of the National Chief Imam in Jorma, Sheikh Sharubutu honoured and adopted Mr. Andoh as a son.

In a related development, the Sharubutu Sabilu Salaam Quran Memorisation Institute, established by the National Chief Imam in 2022, has graduated its first batch of about 30 pupils at its maiden graduation ceremony held on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

The institute was established to train, guide, and educate pupils to memorise the Holy Quran. It remains one of the few specialised Islamic training centres in the country dedicated to full Quran memorisation.

All the graduands have successfully memorised the entire Quran and are ready to further their studies at advanced Islamic training institutions.
