The nationwide voter exhibition, organised by the Electoral Commission (EC), ended yesterday with no major challenges.
However, there were few or no voters at the centresvisited by the Ghanaian Times just like the first day of the exercise.
Started last Tuesday, the exercise was to allow voters to check and confirm their names, ages, addresses, photographs, and polling stations as recorded during the registration process.
Voters were also given the opportunity to request necessary amendments or updates to their details before the upcoming elections.
KINGSLEY ASARE reports from the Redeem Church Ehukorpe Exhibition Centre at Gakorpe in the Ga West Municipality that turnout was low.
When the Ghanaian Times visited the centrearound 9:30 a.m., no voters were present, only the Exhibition Officer and two security personnel were at the centre.
At the Redeem Church Ehukorpe Exhibition Centre, the turnout was below 25 percent. Out of 898 registered voters across two polling stations, only 195 had checked their names.
At Exhibition Centre A, 89 out of 450 voters had checked their names (20 per cent), and at Centre B, 106 out of 448 (23.67 per cent) had done so.
The daily breakdown shows that at Centre A, 23 people checked their names on the first day, 12 on the second day, 10 on the third, 12 on the fourth, five on the fifth, seven on the sixth, and 17 on the seventh day.
At Centre B, the numbers were 23 on the first day, 18 on the second, 14 on the third, 15 on the fourth, eight on the fifth, four on the sixth, and six on the seventh.
Mr Yeboah said the exercise went smoothly, with only one discrepancy noted between a voter’s Ghana Card and birth certificate.
He stated that this voter was instructed to contact the Electoral Commission for correction.
AMA TEKYIWAA AMPADU AGYEMAN reports from Koforidua that 298 centres were set up for the exhibition.
New Juaben South had 198 centres, while New Juaben North had 100.
At the KwakuOctere Exhibition Centre 1A in New Juaben South, 45 out of 411 eligible voters had checked their names by 11 a.m.
At Centre 1B, 35 out of 407 had verified their details, and at Centre 2, 58 out of 710 had checked their names.
At the MCH voter exhibition centres A and B in New Juaben South, 48 out of 452 and 66 out of 450 eligible voters, respectively, had verified their names.
The Exhibition Officers, Emmanuel Sarpong and Bernice Osei, confirmed that no challenges were encountered at their centres.
Despite the low turnout, they are hopeful for higher participation on Election Day.
At the Koforidua Training Centrein New Juaben North, 124 out of 871 eligible voters checked their names, comprising 65 females and 59 males.
The Exhibition Officers,BenedictaAmankwah and Kingsford Kuffour Agyemang, noted the slow turnout over the past eight days but reported no challenges and also observed no party agents at the centres.
From Bolgatanga, FRANCIS DABRE DABANG reports a low turnout in almost all centres in the Upper East Region.
Of 620 registered voters, only 187 visited the Yorogo Junction polling station at Yorogo, Bolgatanga, by 12:06 p.m.
The Exhibition Officer, Jonathan Adoko, attributed the low turnout to the farming season and the convenience of checking names online via smartphones.

By noon, centres at Krapa Old Town Park, AsawasePresby Church ‘A,’ and ‘B’ had not recorded any significant numbers.
At Asawase Presby Church ‘A,’ 129 out of 424 registered voters had checked their names, and at Church ‘B,’ 104 out of 423 had done so.
The Bantama Methodist Pavilion recorded 150 out of 548, and Bantama Methodist Basic had 167 out of 732 expected voters.
