The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, has urged newly elected constituency executives to maintain the commitment they demonstrated during their campaigns and work towards the party’s victory in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking while monitoring the Ayaa-Sowutuom Constituency elections at Odorgonno Senior High School, Mr Chaie said the enthusiasm candidates showed in seeking executive positions must translate into hard work after assuming office.
“The enthusiasm with which people are contesting is the same enthusiasm, dedication, that after winning they need to work,” he said.
He urged the newly elected executives to justify the confidence delegates had placed in them by working effectively and supporting the party’s preparations for the next general elections.
Mr Chaie also described the electoral process as successful, saying the youth and women’s elections had proceeded peacefully. However, he called for tighter security as voting in the main constituency elections drew to a close.
“Normally, when the process is about to end, that is where we need to strengthen security and make sure that the way the process has run, we end very successfully,” he said.
He added that party officials had been stationed at designated areas to monitor developments and coordinate their activities, helping to ensure effective supervision of the process.
