President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, launched the ‘No Fees Stress’ policy, an initiative which would see the government cover academic fees for all first-year students in public tertiary institutions across the country.
According to President Mahama, 15,000 students have thus far benefited from the intervention.
Other components of the policy include a restructured Student Loan Plus Initiative for continuing students, and free tertiary education for persons with disabilities.
Additionally, students on fee-paying programmes without regular-track equivalents will receive reimbursement of up to GH¢2, 500 for academic fees.
