NTC holds memorial service for late Innocent Adobor

The New Times Corporation (NTC) yesterday organised a one-week memorial service for the late Mr Innocent Adobor, a staff of the Corporation.

Mr Adobor worked with the Corporation for more than 20 years as a driver after which he was transferred to the Administration Department (Works Section).

He spent time in the Ashanti and Volta regions before he was recalled to Accra until his death on January 31.

Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director of NTC, Mr Martin Adu-Owusu, described Mr Adobor as a man who discharged his duties diligently and related well with staff.

“I know him pretty well, even outside the Corporation and I can attest to the fact that he was really hardworking.  As we sympathise with the family, we want to assure that we will be with them until our late brother is given a befitting farewell,” the MD said.

Deputy Editor of the Spectator, Mrs Georgina Quaitoo, also offered words of exhortation to the family.

“In sad moments like this, we ask for peace from God for the affected families. Let us allow peace to prevail throughout our dealings and stay safe in such hard times.”

Present at the ceremony were the Editor of the Ghanaian Times, Mr David Agbenu, Editor of the Spectator, Mr Emmanuel Amponsah, acting Administration and Human Resource Manager, Mr Felix Achempong, Head of Technical, Mr John Lawson, Mr Omane Attuquayefio, Accounts Manager, Chairperson of the Professional Managerial Staff Union (PMSU), Ms Diana Bosuh and some family members of the deceased.

The late Adobor will be laid to rest on March 6 at his hometown, Ve-Golokwati in the Volta Region.

He was 57.
