OLA Girls construct volleyball pitch to alma mater

MEMBERS of the 1992-94 year group of the Past OLA Girls Association (POGA) have constructed an ultra-modern volleyball pitch for their alma mater at a cost of GH¢50,000.

The facility was formally handed over to the school at a short ceremony on the campus, in Ho at the weekend.

“This is in fulfillment of the promise we made last year to vigorously support sports activities of the school,” said Madam Selassie Amuzu, president of the year group.

She urged the students to make good use of the facility and also study diligently towards a bright future.

Madam Amuzu, who is a business administrator, said that apart from academics, engaging in sports was another way students could keep themselves focused.

For her part, the headmistress, Madam Regina Coffie expressed gratitude for the donation and said that it had largely boosted the school’s plans to build a sports complex.

She urged other year groups to also support the sports complex plan with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The handing over of the volley pitch coincided with the 65th anniversary and speech and prize giving day of the school.

The celebration was under the theme: Empowering Our Future Women Leaders through Structured and Purposeful Education – 65 Years On.
