Old Aggrey House ‘Nabia’ gives to alma mater
Old Aggrey House students of the Navrongo Senior High School (NAVASCO) in the Upper East region, on Friday presented sports kits worth GH¢4,500 to the school as their contribution to the development of sports in their alma mater.
This follows appeal by the sports masters of the school for assistance as they prepare the students for sporting activities.
The items comprised 17 football Jerseys, one piece goalie kits, 17 pairs of leather boots and socks and 10 leather balls.
The presentation was done by Raphael Alobase, Municipal Coordinator for Second Cycle Schools at the Municipal Education Office, Navrongo and Gordon Abuga, GNAT Secretary for Bawku Municipal on behalf of house members.
The organizer of the old students who made the presentation, Abu-Bakr Salaam, of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Head office Accra, acknowledged the immense contributions of the old students of the house, for the swift response to the appeal for sports kit for the school.
Some of the old students (Nabia) who contributed in procuring the items included, Dr Lawrence Braimah, fisheries consultant, Brigadier General Moses Aryee, Officer Commanding Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces and Professor Christopher Ampadu.
The Headmistress of NAVASCO, Mrs. Mercy Babachuwey, who received the kits thanked the old students for supporting their alma mater and hoped that will be a huge morale booster for the students to excel in sports.
Also present at the presentation were Assistant Headmaster, Administration, Mr. Vincent Ataarem, Assistant Academic, Madam Rainer Nabare, Assistant Domestic, Mr. Clement Abugre and Senior House Master, Mr. Osman Mahama.
