Oly silence Okyeman Planners
A 10-man Accra Great Olympics yesterday secured their first win on the road at Tafo after beating Okyeman Planners 1-0 in their match day five fixture of the Division One League (DOL) Normalisation Committee (NC) competition.
Liberty Nyabah fetched the only goal of the game with a scissor kick from an expertly taken free kick from the experienced Bernard Don Bortey.
The ‘AGOSU’ lads started on a difficult note when they conceded a goal which was ruled offside.
Thereafter, they conceded a penalty when a defender fouled a Planners attacker in the goal area but were lucky to their dependable goalkeeper, Bentum save the penalty to hand their traveling fans a respite from the early pressure.
Oly, however, survived the storm and got the leader through Liberty who fired home from Bortey free kick delivery.
Olympics played the last 25 minutes with 10 men following the expulsion of defender Nasir Mohammed but the defence remained resolute for the period including the seven minutes time added on to return home with their second win in the competition.
