Police assure public of security as Muslims mark Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations

The Ghana Police Service in the Accra Region has assured the public of adequate security arrangements as Muslims across Ghana mark their Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

In a press release issued on March 19, 2026, the Accra Regional Police Command stated that it has deployed enough personnel to ensure a peaceful and incident free celebration across the region.

The Command explained that officers have been stationed at key locations, including mosques, Eid prayer grounds, major roads, markets, transport terminals and other public places to protect lives and property.

It added that special traffic management teams have also been assigned to control vehicular movement before, during and after the celebrations to reduce congestion and improve road safety.

The Police further noted that patrol teams will increase their presence in communities to deter crime and respond quickly to emergencies.

The Command urged the public to remain alert and cooperate with security personnel, adding that any suspicious activity should be reported to the nearest police station.

It advised motorists and pedestrians to obey traffic regulations to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.
