Porter remanded for stealing motorbike
A Sunyani District Magistrate Court ‘A’ has remanded a porter, Kwadwo Adam, 30, for stealing an Apsonic motorbike, belonging to Dong Martin Gamba, at Antwikrom, in the Sunyani Municipality.
Adam pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing, and the court presided over by Mr Eric Danine, adjourned the case to April 26.
Police Sergeant Clement Adongo told the court that accused on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, borrowed Gamba’s motorbike with registration number M-20BA-2657 to buy goods at Antwikrom.
The court heard that accused did not return the motorbike worth GH₵4,200.00 as promised, and so the complainant (Gamba) and his colleagues searched for the accused, but they could not find him.
Sgt Adongo said Gamba reported the case to the police at Atronie and information was sent to police stations at Goaso, Mim and other communities in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.
The prosecution said on Tuesday, March 29, this year, accused was arrested at Goaso.
Sgt Adongo said accused told police investigators that he sold the motorbike to a man at Ayomso, and the motorbike was subsequently retrieved. -GNA
