President receives Rev. Dr Jung-Yun Oh

The Senior Pastor of the Sarang Church of Korea, Rev. Dr Jung-Yun Oh, who is in the country to organise a discipleship training seminar for a number of churches in Ghana, called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Accra yesterday.

Rev. Dr Jung-Yun Oh and his delegation visited the President to brief him on the conference and interact with him.

Church leaders, both lay and clergy, the Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church, Anglican, Victory Bible Church, Ghana Police Church, Accra Ridge Church among others, have had the opportunity to participate in a discipleship training seminar which started on February 4.

About 1,200 church leaders are attending the seminar which is being held on the theme ‘Call to Awaken’. It is expected to impact both the participating churches and the community.

President Akufo-Addo said the visit was a big honour to him and expressed the government’s commitment to give the seminar the necessary support through the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

He said Ghana, a nation with about 70 per cent of its citizens Christians, cherished religious freedom and tolerance.

An important feature of life in Ghana, according to the President, is the fact that Christians live in peace and harmony with their brothers and sisters from different faith.

“It’s a big honour to us to welcome such a notable priest in our country,” he said and wished them well.

Rev Dr Jung-Yun Oh, before leaving, prayed for the President and his government.
