Re: President of Gbese  Traditional Council swears in three new chiefs

The Adjei Mantse of the Adjei Sanaa family has urged the public to disregard any publication on the purported enstoolment of a new head of Sanaa family by president of the Gbese Traditional Council, Dr Nii Ayi Bonte II

According to the Sanaa Family, Dr Nii Ayi Bonte II has no authority to make such appointments, and therefore, his actions should be considered “void and null.”

In a rejoinder on Monday, to the Ghanaian Times publication on March 4, the Nii Adjei Sanaa Family said the family does not acknowledge the said person enstooled as its head of family and does not holds any legitimate position within the Adjei Sanaa Family lineage.

“We wish to state that, Nii Adjei Sanaa Family does not recognise the person who is purported to have been sworn into office by the Gbese Mantse as its head of family.”

To clarify, the Nii Adjei Sanaa family has had an appointed head, Nii Kwarshie Larbi, since 2021, who has been diligently carrying out his responsibilities as such without any interference.

The family is rejecting the Gbese Mantse’s actions, citing a clear breach of protocol and tradition.

They asserted that only a legitimate member of the Sanaa family has the right to appoint or install a new head, and the Gbese Mantse’s actions were, therefore invalid.

Therefore, they found the recent swearing-in ceremony conducted by the Gbese Mantse to be without merit.

“The Gbese Mantse, who is not a member of the Sanaa Family, lacks the authority to appoint or install anyone as the head of the Nii Adjei Sanaa family.”

In light of this, the statement stated that “we kindly request that the public disregard the actions and proclamations made by the Gbese Mantse, as they have no standing within our family.”

“Furthermore, we appeal to the Ga Mantse to intervene and address this matter with the Gbese Mantse to prevent any further confusion.

“We appreciate the opportunity to present our side and trust that this clarification will put to rest any misunderstandings.” Nii Adjei Sanaa I, the Adjeiman Mantse and Principal Member of the Adjei Sanaa Family, added.
